For the past few weeks, we have been reading “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl. The students will now complete three activities that utilize various technology tools as a part of this literature unit. The focus of this unit is character analysis. Classroom discussions, paper & pencil activities, and a movie screening will also be incorporated in this unit.
Below is an outline of the elements of this unit:
1. Entry Event
Students will use nouns, verbs, and adjectives inspired by the book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in a word cloud. Students will use Wordle for this activity.
Students will create a comic strip with three frames about the character development of either Charlie, Grandpa Joe, or Mr. Wonka. Their comics need a heading, a background, a character, a speech bubble, and a description for each panel. Students will use Pixton as their creation tool.
Students will create an infographic poster which advertises Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Students will use Piktochart as their creation tool for this activity.
Students will post their activities to the classroom blog. This blog was created through EduBlogs. Here is the link to our class blog: http://brobertson123.edublogs.org/
